00:00:00.680 --> 00:00:01.760
John chapter 21.

00:00:01.800 --> 00:00:02.860
I want to set the background of this.

00:00:02.900 --> 00:00:10.140
On the series we've been together, we've been looking at the theme of scripture, so when we pick up the Bible, we get this broad picture of what God's trying to communicate to

00:00:10.140 --> 00:00:10.340
us.

00:00:10.800 --> 00:00:17.840
If you read scripture and you see the individual stories, it is important to tie the individual stories to the grand theme of what God's communicating to us.

00:00:18.340 --> 00:00:18.720
He is a King.

00:00:19.120 --> 00:00:20.420
He has built His kingdom.

00:00:20.820 --> 00:00:22.120
Man has sinned and in rebellion.

00:00:22.480 --> 00:00:27.360
In that rebellion, God can bring his wrath and judgment, but God has offered us His grace.

00:00:27.720 --> 00:00:29.260
That's why Jesus has come.

00:00:29.260 --> 00:00:30.560
God's plan of redemption.

00:00:30.660 --> 00:00:37.160
God's come for you to give his life to you, to die in your place so that you don't face death and judgment before the Lord.

00:00:37.380 --> 00:00:39.700
Rather, you find grace, forgiveness and renewal.

00:00:39.780 --> 00:00:41.640
God can make all things new in your life.

00:00:42.200 --> 00:00:45.690
The story of the Bible, if I brought it down into one word, it would be redemption.

00:00:46.560 --> 00:00:49.520
This King and His kingdom delivering it to you.

00:00:49.540 --> 00:00:54.140
So we've seen how this is tied together in the Old Testament bringing into the New Testament.

00:00:54.620 --> 00:00:59.860
And last time I spoke two weeks ago, we talked about the beginning of these gospels and tying this picture together.

00:01:00.660 --> 00:01:03.340
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.` Why we have four gospels and yada yada.

00:01:03.580 --> 00:01:09.920
If you don't know the answer to why we have four gospels and some other questions related to the gospels, I would tell you listen to the message a couple of weeks ago.

00:01:10.360 --> 00:01:11.440
But today this is what I want to do.

00:01:12.260 --> 00:01:19.420
I love John 21 I am so thankful for where it is in the Bible and how God has positioned at here and what he teaches us

00:01:19.560 --> 00:01:19.820
through it.

00:01:21.360 --> 00:01:28.640
John 21 addresses for us the human experience as it relates to living life for

00:01:28.640 --> 00:01:29.100
the Lord.

00:01:29.600 --> 00:01:30.760
It is not always easy.

00:01:31.360 --> 00:01:33.470
We have battles and we aren't perfect.

00:01:33.940 --> 00:01:38.410
When you read the gospels, what you see is as Jesus lived his life, it was brilliant.

00:01:38.720 --> 00:01:39.280
It was beautiful.

00:01:39.500 --> 00:01:44.450
He was a leader, he was humble, he was firm, he was loving and he was bold.

00:01:44.930 --> 00:01:48.180
How can he mix all of that together?

00:01:48.180 --> 00:01:50.520
How can he lead with such confidence yet with such gentleness?

00:01:50.820 --> 00:01:51.310
It is incredible.

00:01:51.960 --> 00:01:52.800
And then you get to the disciples.

00:01:53.800 --> 00:01:59.450
And on some days, at best, maybe the best description you could give them is a train wreck in motion.

00:02:00.040 --> 00:02:03.880
If we could ever have a do over, today would be the day for these disciples.

00:02:04.300 --> 00:02:07.280
They were trying, but it didn't always work out.

00:02:07.480 --> 00:02:10.820
And when you get to the end of the gospels, you really see this happening.

00:02:11.190 --> 00:02:19.520
At the end of the gospels, it starts to lay out for us this picture that is difficult emotionally,

00:02:19.520 --> 00:02:22.460
spiritually, every capacity of the human being to deal with.

00:02:23.200 --> 00:02:25.560
And I'm just going to give you a synopsis.

00:02:25.840 --> 00:02:27.150
I don't want to dive into these verses.

00:02:27.280 --> 00:02:33.880
I just want to give you a synopsis so that you can go on this journey with me as I'm explaining to you the importance of John 21.

00:02:33.900 --> 00:02:37.720
Because everything leading into this is exactly why we have John 21.

00:02:38.900 --> 00:02:46.020
I'm going to use it from the gospel of Luke just to set a precedent because Luke is a little more detailed before I leap into John 21 but if you look at the end

00:02:46.020 --> 00:02:51.340
of Luke, what you find starting in John 19 is Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

00:02:51.360 --> 00:02:54.120
This is his last moments on earth.

00:02:54.120 --> 00:03:01.400
He's on the back of a donkey going into the city and they're all shouting, "Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord." Basically saying,

00:03:01.560 --> 00:03:04.840
"take your kingdom now, King." Giving this kind of declaration.

00:03:05.660 --> 00:03:12.260
But while this is happening, the religious leaders it tells us in Luke 19 looked at Jesus and tell Jesus to silence the crowd.

00:03:12.660 --> 00:03:14.570
And Jesus basically says, I'm not going to do that.

00:03:14.840 --> 00:03:18.690
He goes a little further and says, if I did, even the rocks would cry out in this moment.

00:03:19.880 --> 00:03:25.800
But shortly after this time where Jesus is getting the celebration, Jesus knows it's short lived.

00:03:26.340 --> 00:03:28.500
That the genuineness of people's hearts really aren't there.

00:03:28.540 --> 00:03:29.980
That they're not praising him for who he is.

00:03:29.980 --> 00:03:31.720
They're praising them because of what they get from him.

00:03:32.740 --> 00:03:38.680
He's sort of like this walking magic show that every once in a while if they get hungry, he'll just pop out five loaves and feed the whole crowd.

00:03:40.340 --> 00:03:41.600
And Jesus knows this.

00:03:41.660 --> 00:03:46.210
And in Luke 19:41 he weeps over Jerusalem because the people have rejected him.

00:03:47.100 --> 00:03:50.730
Verse 45 he goes to the temple and he drives out the money changers.

00:03:50.980 --> 00:03:52.880
This is where Jesus wreaks havoc on the temple.

00:03:52.880 --> 00:03:56.680
And you see crazy Jesus in these moments driving out people in the temple.

00:03:56.680 --> 00:03:59.080
I could explain to you why, but I don't have time for that.

00:03:59.140 --> 00:04:00.540
So if you want to know, you can ask me later.

00:04:00.780 --> 00:04:02.890
I've taught on a few times, but Jesus drives out people.

00:04:03.160 --> 00:04:06.340
In verse 47 the religious leaders want to kill him.

00:04:06.600 --> 00:04:13.800
And then when you get to chapter 20 this is where the religious leaders come to Jesus and they pose questions to them because they're trying to trick

00:04:13.800 --> 00:04:14.720
him and trap him.

00:04:15.000 --> 00:04:17.360
And Jesus answers these questions masterfully.

00:04:19.240 --> 00:04:22.610
And they get to the end of that and they realize they can't trap Jesus in the questions.

00:04:23.260 --> 00:04:30.520
And after Jesus answers these questions, he turns and looks at the crowd and very loudly, he warns them of the danger

00:04:30.520 --> 00:04:31.980
of the religious leaders.

00:04:33.020 --> 00:04:35.120
And so you sort of see this tension building.

00:04:35.460 --> 00:04:37.580
Jesus goes in, religious leaders, they stop.

00:04:37.980 --> 00:04:40.280
Jesus says no, they're like, we're gonna, we want to kill you.

00:04:41.000 --> 00:04:42.440
And then they decide they're gonna try to embarrass them.

00:04:42.480 --> 00:04:43.300
They can embarrass him.

00:04:43.760 --> 00:04:49.360
And Jesus instead turns the crowd and points to the danger of the religious leaders.

00:04:49.400 --> 00:04:50.650
And now they really want to kill Jesus.

00:04:50.900 --> 00:04:52.480
And the disciples see this tension build.

00:04:53.440 --> 00:04:56.260
And as if to kind of downplay this moment, they just sort of turn back.

00:04:56.380 --> 00:04:58.820
And this morning we're like, yeah, that was kind of a weird day, Jesus.

00:04:58.820 --> 00:04:59.550
But look at the temple.

00:04:59.700 --> 00:05:00.710
Isn't the temple great?

00:05:01.120 --> 00:05:03.830
And Jesus is like, yeah, it's all going to be destroyed too.

00:05:04.120 --> 00:05:05.860
It's kind of like a pandemonium moment.

00:05:05.940 --> 00:05:06.640
This is chaotic.

00:05:07.140 --> 00:05:10.370
Jesus, in Luke 21:20 says, the temple is going to be destroyed.

00:05:11.100 --> 00:05:16.900
And then the religious leaders in Luke 22:2 they not just want to kill him, actually plot to kill him.

00:05:18.240 --> 00:05:22.020
And in that same chapter, this is where Jesus tells his disciples he's going to die.

00:05:23.480 --> 00:05:30.600
And Peter takes this bold statement and says to Jesus, "Jesus, you're not going to die and I would even give my life for

00:05:30.600 --> 00:05:36.600
you." And then Jesus tells him in verse 34 he says to him, Peter, before the night's done, you're going to deny me three times.

00:05:39.040 --> 00:05:46.180
When you get to this point of Luke, Jesus is with his disciples in the upper room spending his

00:05:46.300 --> 00:05:48.570
final hours, his last six hours on earth.

00:05:49.780 --> 00:05:51.020
And he takes them to the garden.

00:05:52.720 --> 00:05:53.730
And all that they had gone through.

00:05:53.980 --> 00:05:58.020
They see the religious leaders building against Jesus.

00:05:58.020 --> 00:06:00.720
They likely know that these guys want to kill him.

00:06:00.740 --> 00:06:02.500
If not have created a plot to kill him.

00:06:04.340 --> 00:06:07.710
And they're in this city where the tension is just enormous.

00:06:07.800 --> 00:06:09.320
And thinking, why are we even here?

00:06:09.320 --> 00:06:10.600
We need to be hiding right now.

00:06:12.540 --> 00:06:13.800
Difficult moments for them.

00:06:13.800 --> 00:06:16.090
And now their leader just told them, I'm going to die.

00:06:18.660 --> 00:06:21.140
He goes to the garden and he's praying in anguish.

00:06:22.280 --> 00:06:26.320
And you really, in this moment, see how this has taken a toll on the disciples.

00:06:27.840 --> 00:06:35.140
It tells us in Luke 22:45, when Jesus rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them

00:06:35.140 --> 00:06:39.740
sleeping from sorrow He said to them.

00:06:39.880 --> 00:06:40.240
Why are you sleeping?

00:06:42.120 --> 00:06:47.500
Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation.

00:06:49.760 --> 00:06:51.150
Right after this moment.

00:06:52.280 --> 00:06:59.420
Jesus has taken and he's carried off into this night trial that's illegal

00:06:59.420 --> 00:07:01.320
in this day and time.

00:07:01.320 --> 00:07:08.400
But he's run through this trial and Peter actually goes up to this trial that's taking place and he sort of watches from

00:07:08.400 --> 00:07:11.020
the outskirts, this interaction that they're having with Jesus.

00:07:12.340 --> 00:07:16.860
And then Peter ultimately does exactly what Jesus said he would do in verse 60.

00:07:19.520 --> 00:07:22.460
Peter's approach and he denies Jesus and then he denies Jesus again.

00:07:22.460 --> 00:07:25.180
And finally the third time they ask him, don't you know this man?

00:07:25.180 --> 00:07:29.280
And Peter said, man, I do not know what you're talking about.

00:07:29.360 --> 00:07:36.520
Immediately while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed and the Lord turned and looked at Peter and

00:07:36.620 --> 00:07:43.600
Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had told him before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.

00:07:44.540 --> 00:07:48.000
And Peter went out and wept bitterly.

00:07:50.900 --> 00:07:52.020
You see how Peter got here, right?

00:07:53.860 --> 00:07:57.000
He had these moments that build that just wear on the soul.

00:07:59.600 --> 00:08:02.230
Your leader is telling him that he's going to die.

00:08:02.400 --> 00:08:03.840
You follow this leader for years.

00:08:03.840 --> 00:08:05.500
You think this leader is going to set up the Kingdom.

00:08:05.540 --> 00:08:12.560
Everything that you anticipate, all the hope that you've put towards over all these last few years and spending life with Jesus and walking with him

00:08:12.560 --> 00:08:15.960
and giving up the fishing and going out and just being a follower of Christ.

00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:18.680
And all of a sudden you feel like your world is coming crashing down.

00:08:21.580 --> 00:08:29.480
In those moments of sorrow, depression, sometimes it happens where our decision making isn't

00:08:29.480 --> 00:08:30.720
always the strongest.

00:08:32.220 --> 00:08:35.900
In fact, we could say it's most likely the weakest moments in our lives.

00:08:36.240 --> 00:08:39.659
What we find with Peter's that Peter messed up.

00:08:42.409 --> 00:08:47.140
Inevitably, when you serve the Lord, at some point you will mess up.

00:08:49.160 --> 00:08:49.700
What do you do?

00:08:51.780 --> 00:08:53.000
How could God use you?

00:08:53.000 --> 00:08:54.020
How could you come back from that?

00:08:54.040 --> 00:08:59.140
When you think about this moment, Peter, he denies Jesus and Jesus said he was going to do it before he even did it.

00:08:59.440 --> 00:09:05.120
And when he does it, Jesus even hears him do it and he looked straight at Peter right after Peter denies Him.

00:09:06.960 --> 00:09:09.260
Can you imagine how gut churning that was for Peter?

00:09:10.580 --> 00:09:15.320
And his response is immediately is to turn face and to run away and just weep bitterly in his failure.

00:09:16.980 --> 00:09:18.590
How do you come back from that?

00:09:19.880 --> 00:09:22.620
I think our English language we have a vocabulary word for that.

00:09:22.640 --> 00:09:24.260
We call it regret, right?

00:09:25.760 --> 00:09:33.120
Regret is when you look back with remorse at something for either a foolish choice or a lack of making a choice or something that's

00:09:33.120 --> 00:09:33.460
done.

00:09:34.840 --> 00:09:41.620
I think one regret is one of the most difficult emotions for us to handle as people.

00:09:42.260 --> 00:09:49.620
And you only have to have regret because as necessarily something that you did sinful, but we all deal with it in some capacity.

00:09:50.760 --> 00:09:57.580
And I think one of the reasons it's such a difficult human emotion to handle is because we're often used to handling things on our own.

00:09:59.660 --> 00:10:00.560
It's up to me.

00:10:00.600 --> 00:10:01.260
I've got this.

00:10:01.360 --> 00:10:03.830
You just pull up the bootstraps and you move forward.

00:10:03.880 --> 00:10:12.620
But when it comes to regret, what we're acknowledging is that something out of our control, Peter messed up and

00:10:12.620 --> 00:10:14.620
he can't undo what's been done.

00:10:15.640 --> 00:10:17.250
And because now it's out of his power.

00:10:17.460 --> 00:10:22.600
He carries this emotion of regret towards Jesus in this moment now what does he do?

00:10:25.480 --> 00:10:27.260
You know how those times play in your mind.

00:10:28.540 --> 00:10:34.770
If I'd only known how much they hurt, I would have done more.

00:10:36.780 --> 00:10:42.000
If I had known it was my last time to be with them or how it was going to go, I would've done things different.

00:10:44.320 --> 00:10:48.040
If I could only go back and undo it, I would.

00:10:50.720 --> 00:10:57.780
In those moments of regret, what you do here, the message spoken into

00:10:57.840 --> 00:11:02.180
your heart in that moment is critical.

00:11:03.120 --> 00:11:10.120
And I would encourage us as we think about those times that we've gone through, maybe we even hold onto moments of regret right now or we're going to encounter.

00:11:10.880 --> 00:11:15.920
I would encourage you to let the Lord speak that message into your life rather than yourself.

00:11:17.960 --> 00:11:22.860
Because what we acknowledge and regret is it's really something beyond our control.

00:11:24.300 --> 00:11:25.990
You can't undo what's been done.

00:11:27.460 --> 00:11:34.030
And when you look at the end of the gospel story, is really what you see are two examples of how to deal with it.

00:11:35.000 --> 00:11:40.690
One example leads to death and the other one there is health, there is life, there is hope.

00:11:41.940 --> 00:11:46.540
When I talk about two examples, what I mean is there's Judas and there's Peter.

00:11:48.320 --> 00:11:51.980
You see at the end of Jesus's life is there are two people that deny Jesus.

00:11:52.160 --> 00:11:55.420
Two people that turn backs on the scripture, makes plainly clear and how they behave.

00:11:55.900 --> 00:11:57.920
One is Judas and one is Peter.

00:11:58.600 --> 00:12:05.680
Judas in his remorse we find in the Bible, Matthew 27:33-35, that his regret led him to such

00:12:05.680 --> 00:12:07.260
an unhealthy place that it brought death.

00:12:10.100 --> 00:12:11.920
Judas ultimately went out and hung himself.

00:12:13.560 --> 00:12:16.180
Now, I'm not trying to give this blanket statement about suicide.

00:12:16.180 --> 00:12:17.560
I would never do that.

00:12:18.660 --> 00:12:25.740
But I think there is a degree that we carry such remorse that even if it physically doesn't lead us to death spiritually it

00:12:25.740 --> 00:12:25.940
will.

00:12:27.420 --> 00:12:29.620
And ultimately that's where it always ends up.

00:12:32.320 --> 00:12:34.860
Regret in your own strength produces death.

00:12:34.980 --> 00:12:35.800
It destroys the soul.

00:12:37.420 --> 00:12:41.480
But there is another way that leads to life.

00:12:43.640 --> 00:12:48.880
And this is what this passage in John 21 is all about.

00:12:49.840 --> 00:12:56.820
So you turn to this chapter and you begin in John chapter 21 you'd asked the question, okay, then we see what Judas did and it ultimately led to death.

00:12:56.820 --> 00:12:59.400
And living a life captivated in regret.

00:12:59.500 --> 00:13:00.120
That's what it produces.

00:13:00.520 --> 00:13:04.060
A regret is all about looking at the past and in remorse.

00:13:04.140 --> 00:13:06.220
Wishing you can change it, having no power to do something.

00:13:06.740 --> 00:13:09.840
And I think it's important to know that is how Satan operates.

00:13:12.520 --> 00:13:14.460
Satan is all about the past.

00:13:16.380 --> 00:13:18.940
Jesus is all about your present and your future.

00:13:18.960 --> 00:13:22.520
Jesus doesn't so much care about where you've been as to where you are going.

00:13:24.460 --> 00:13:31.740
Satan, it tells us in Revelation 21, he is the accuser of the brethren, which means he likes to take your past and throw it in your future so you stay stuck

00:13:31.740 --> 00:13:32.040
there.

00:13:34.220 --> 00:13:40.940
And in John 21, we come to this chapter and I am so glad that John included this in scripture.

00:13:40.940 --> 00:13:48.000
Because you think about, you read the other gospels and you see the way Jesus and Peter have interacted the end of his life that Peter denied Jesus.

00:13:48.060 --> 00:13:51.820
And the question in everybody's mind is, well, what happened in this relationship?

00:13:52.120 --> 00:13:54.200
Like where is Peter in all of this?

00:13:54.280 --> 00:13:55.860
And how are we to view this?

00:13:55.860 --> 00:14:00.760
And how can we have hope if Peter who becomes the leader denies Jesus?

00:14:00.800 --> 00:14:01.860
What hope do I have right?

00:14:04.760 --> 00:14:06.840
And John 21 faces it.

00:14:07.300 --> 00:14:08.510
So what does Peter do?

00:14:09.880 --> 00:14:11.830
verse three, ready for this profound thought.

00:14:13.340 --> 00:14:16.720
Simon Peter said to them, I'm going fishing.

00:14:16.720 --> 00:14:17.990
So what I say to you this morning is take a vacation.

00:14:19.690 --> 00:14:23.120
What Peter is doing in this moment is honestly he's doing nothing.

00:14:24.250 --> 00:14:29.830
Theologians look at this section of scripture and they try to make this a black and white one where they're like, okay, Peter's going fishing.

00:14:30.080 --> 00:14:31.700
Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

00:14:31.740 --> 00:14:34.390
If you ever read commentaries on this is what they try to weigh in on this verse.

00:14:35.060 --> 00:14:36.960
And I really just think it's this.

00:14:36.960 --> 00:14:37.320
It's nothing.

00:14:38.460 --> 00:14:40.020
I don't think Peter knows what to do.

00:14:41.620 --> 00:14:47.020
And so what he does is he just goes back to what he's familiar with until he figures out what he can do because the guy's got to eat.

00:14:48.280 --> 00:14:49.250
This is what I did before.

00:14:49.300 --> 00:14:50.240
This is where I made money.

00:14:50.300 --> 00:14:53.120
Until I figured out what the next step is, I need to be doing something.

00:14:53.760 --> 00:14:58.940
And so I'm just going to continue in this pattern of which I trusted in before I knew Jesus, which was fishing.

00:15:00.280 --> 00:15:06.540
And so Peter said to the disciples, "I'm going fishing." And they, the disciples said to him, we will also come with you.

00:15:07.660 --> 00:15:11.140
They went out and got into the boat and that night they caught nothing.

00:15:13.340 --> 00:15:14.120
Now why does that matter?

00:15:14.580 --> 00:15:15.560
Well, I'll tell you why it matters.

00:15:16.260 --> 00:15:21.160
It's because in life, so many times you take gut punches and you think to yourself, I can't take one more, not even a little.

00:15:21.540 --> 00:15:23.980
And he's just saying, and here comes a little one.

00:15:24.580 --> 00:15:26.660
They went all night long fishing and they came and they can't even catch a fish.

00:15:26.800 --> 00:15:28.440
These guys aren't good to anything right now.

00:15:30.260 --> 00:15:30.860
You felt like that?

00:15:33.540 --> 00:15:34.050
What do you do?

00:15:36.480 --> 00:15:40.220
I think the better question is what does Jesus do?

00:15:41.560 --> 00:15:43.380
Because we've been honest with the fact of regret.

00:15:43.700 --> 00:15:48.520
Really, we don't have the ability within ourselves to change things that have been done.

00:15:50.120 --> 00:15:50.960
So what does Jesus do?

00:15:51.500 --> 00:15:52.540
Verse verse four tells us.

00:15:54.700 --> 00:16:02.060
When the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach, yet the disciples

00:16:02.060 --> 00:16:03.450
did not know that it was Jesus.

00:16:03.600 --> 00:16:08.740
So Jesus said to them, "Children, you don't have any fish, do you?" The answered him no.

00:16:09.580 --> 00:16:14.310
And he said to them, cast the net on the right side of the boat and you'll find a catch.

00:16:14.940 --> 00:16:19.620
So they cast and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.

00:16:19.640 --> 00:16:23.180
Therefore, the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, it's the Lord.

00:16:23.240 --> 00:16:30.300
And so when Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on for, he was stripped for work and threw himself into

00:16:30.300 --> 00:16:31.160
the sea.

00:16:31.700 --> 00:16:33.990
I don't know if we should tell Peter this, but he got it backwards.

00:16:35.380 --> 00:16:37.720
You don't put your clothes on to then jump in the water.

00:16:37.980 --> 00:16:40.940
You carry your clothes until you get out of the water, so your clothes aren't wet, right?

00:16:41.020 --> 00:16:42.610
It's like he's still not thinking straight here.

00:16:42.900 --> 00:16:48.330
Peter, he puts his clothes on, he jumps in the water and he goes and sees Jesus.

00:16:48.760 --> 00:16:55.760
And what you begin to see in this moment is this beautiful story of how God meets us in our brokenness and our failures

00:16:55.760 --> 00:16:56.960
and our regrets.

00:16:56.960 --> 00:17:00.030
I mean, could you imagine this, what this was like?

00:17:01.280 --> 00:17:02.640
You walk with regrets, right?

00:17:02.680 --> 00:17:04.760
"If I'd only known I would've done it different.

00:17:05.619 --> 00:17:08.000
If I'd only knew it was the last time I would have said something else.

00:17:08.040 --> 00:17:15.339
If I could go back, I would've done it differently." And Peter, no doubt in these moments of his life, he walked around with regret saying, "If

00:17:15.339 --> 00:17:18.829
I could've just relived that moment, that night, one more time, I would've died with Jesus.

00:17:19.540 --> 00:17:25.920
Or if I could just tell Him, I'm sorry." And what you see in this moment is everything bad is coming, untrue.

00:17:27.839 --> 00:17:30.340
Everything bad coming untrue.

00:17:30.340 --> 00:17:32.670
The one that he loved, who he thought he lost.

00:17:33.040 --> 00:17:35.420
And now he's walking on the shores in front of him.

00:17:35.820 --> 00:17:42.920
It's no wonder that Peter just leaps out of the boat and runs to Jesus because out of all the disciples, no doubt he is the one carrying

00:17:42.920 --> 00:17:46.020
the deepest regret over everything that has taken place.

00:17:48.240 --> 00:17:55.520
And when I read this story, this action, these words that John shares

00:17:55.520 --> 00:17:57.160
makes my heart so happy.

00:17:58.620 --> 00:18:03.320
Because what you see is a God that has not given up on him.

00:18:05.500 --> 00:18:11.420
Jesus shows up in Peter's life and he doesn't stop loving him.

00:18:14.420 --> 00:18:21.440
When I think about this idea of regret, I think the reason that we often struggle with what

00:18:21.440 --> 00:18:28.760
to do, having no power really to undo anything, is because so often we think about the solution in

00:18:28.760 --> 00:18:29.840
terms of religion.

00:18:31.540 --> 00:18:35.300
Our default as human beings is to fight ourselves religiously.

00:18:37.320 --> 00:18:44.380
And what I mean is when we think about our regret in life, what we've learned is: I need

00:18:44.380 --> 00:18:50.480
to behave different, to become something different so I can belong and be loved.

00:18:53.380 --> 00:18:54.700
I need to modify my behavior.

00:18:56.240 --> 00:18:59.380
I need to behave different, to become different in order to belong.

00:19:01.500 --> 00:19:08.560
And what Jesus is teaching us here, it's that Jesus' primary interest isn't in your behavior.

00:19:10.420 --> 00:19:15.280
I think God cares about your behavior, but behavior is a fruit.

00:19:17.240 --> 00:19:19.720
And what God is more interested is the root.

00:19:21.240 --> 00:19:24.420
God doesn't primarily care about your behavior.

00:19:26.300 --> 00:19:27.980
God primarily cares about who you're becoming.

00:19:30.500 --> 00:19:35.390
And God knows the way you become who He desires for you to be is based on where you belong.

00:19:36.800 --> 00:19:37.200
Does that make sense?

00:19:39.200 --> 00:19:43.460
What I'm saying is in religious way of thinking, there is no hope.

00:19:44.540 --> 00:19:45.200
And here's why.

00:19:45.760 --> 00:19:51.610
You can change your behavior all day long, but it can never undo the things that you've done that you regret.

00:19:53.600 --> 00:20:00.660
You can change your behavior all day long, but it's not going to ever necessitate that it's going to be perfect from this point forward and you're always going

00:20:00.660 --> 00:20:01.800
to have to deal with regret.

00:20:01.900 --> 00:20:02.540
And what do you do with it?

00:20:02.820 --> 00:20:05.300
Well, when you can't find a solution, it leads to death.

00:20:09.210 --> 00:20:13.430
Behavior, becoming, belonging = religion.

00:20:13.430 --> 00:20:20.590
Jesus, however, is this: belong, become and then behave.

00:20:23.440 --> 00:20:26.370
Jesus knows Peter's not perfect.

00:20:27.730 --> 00:20:33.800
Could you imagine if God had treated Peter in these moments, in a religious way?

00:20:34.890 --> 00:20:38.010
He comes to Peter and says, "Oh man, that guy, jeez!

00:20:38.810 --> 00:20:40.710
You know, I've given him chance after chance.

00:20:40.710 --> 00:20:44.410
He goes, lopping people's ears off, always shooting off at the mouth.

00:20:44.710 --> 00:20:48.830
If I keep going with this, he's going to deny me in Galatians 1.

00:20:49.190 --> 00:20:51.270
Forget this guy, let's pick someone new.

00:20:51.930 --> 00:20:53.110
I can't deal with anymore.

00:20:53.130 --> 00:20:54.150
His behavior is awful.

00:20:56.290 --> 00:21:05.650
He even denied me." But God is showing in this story, his

00:21:05.670 --> 00:21:11.650
interest isn't in what Peter does so much is where Peter belongs.

00:21:13.170 --> 00:21:16.630
Because in belonging, God can produce in him a different heart.

00:21:16.730 --> 00:21:18.110
And Jesus preached this over and over.

00:21:18.110 --> 00:21:18.810
I would say it like this.

00:21:20.030 --> 00:21:24.590
Here's where we battle in religion versus relationship to Christ.

00:21:25.130 --> 00:21:29.600
Sometimes we come to a church gathering and we think, okay, this morning, here's what's going to happen.

00:21:29.650 --> 00:21:32.030
Some of us are even timid to come to church cause this is what we think is going to happen.

00:21:32.710 --> 00:21:33.610
And it does happen.

00:21:33.990 --> 00:21:35.930
This sinfully happens, wrongfully happens.

00:21:36.170 --> 00:21:39.670
And if we think Christianity is this, I want to tell you in the front it's wrong.

00:21:39.970 --> 00:21:41.150
What I'm about to tell you is wrong.

00:21:41.760 --> 00:21:42.540
Here's what we think happens.

00:21:42.670 --> 00:21:43.500
I'm going to go to church now.

00:21:43.710 --> 00:21:45.410
They're going to tell me all the bad things that I've done.

00:21:45.730 --> 00:21:49.730
They're going to want all the good things that I need to do and I'm pulling my bootstraps and I'm going to do those things right?

00:21:51.570 --> 00:21:52.810
That is not Christianity.

00:21:53.970 --> 00:21:57.730
That will never get past regret, that'll never find forgiveness.

00:21:58.290 --> 00:22:00.190
That'll teach you all about depending on yourself.

00:22:00.650 --> 00:22:03.270
That doesn't give you the transformation that God calls you into.

00:22:03.570 --> 00:22:05.910
That is not what Christianity is about.

00:22:06.370 --> 00:22:07.830
That is what religion is about.

00:22:08.130 --> 00:22:10.450
That is not what Christianity is about.

00:22:10.750 --> 00:22:13.510
If you don't hear anything else today, please hear that.

00:22:13.510 --> 00:22:15.350
That is not Christianity.

00:22:15.830 --> 00:22:20.930
Yes, you will read texts of the Bible that say, look, here's things that are bad, here's things that are good.

00:22:21.150 --> 00:22:24.110
But God's purpose in that isn't to say to you now go do good.

00:22:24.390 --> 00:22:31.410
God certainly wants you to do good things, but the driving force behind why you do what you do isn't about your strength in doing good.

00:22:31.750 --> 00:22:33.590
It's about what God does in you.

00:22:33.870 --> 00:22:41.130
The reason God talks about good things and bad things, is so we can recognize in our lives, there's something deeper than just my behavior,

00:22:41.170 --> 00:22:42.450
which God wants to address.

00:22:42.750 --> 00:22:44.990
And what he wants to speak to is my heart.

00:22:46.310 --> 00:22:49.850
This is why we battle with regret is because we fight religion.

00:22:51.370 --> 00:22:53.760
We look at it and we realize we can't change the past.

00:22:55.070 --> 00:23:01.570
And so we walk around with this guilt and shame and penance as if I live in that long enough, then maybe God will love you.

00:23:01.650 --> 00:23:04.210
Well, the answer is God loves you.

00:23:06.450 --> 00:23:07.550
That's why he died.

00:23:09.830 --> 00:23:12.710
God cares about your behavior, but that's not his driving force.

00:23:12.710 --> 00:23:15.170
What God wants more than anything is your heart.

00:23:15.190 --> 00:23:17.810
Because if he can get your heart, he changes your life.

00:23:19.030 --> 00:23:21.690
And that's what he's teaching Peter in this lesson.

00:23:22.050 --> 00:23:28.290
And inevitably what we learned through Peter's example, which becomes a beautiful story of redemption and hope for us.

00:23:28.350 --> 00:23:33.190
And so what we begin to learn as the story plays out is give the Lord your regrets.

00:23:35.070 --> 00:23:36.970
What God does in verse 9 to 14.

00:23:37.030 --> 00:23:40.150
I'm not gonna read that, I'm gonna skip past it, but I love this.

00:23:40.150 --> 00:23:40.850
God has a meal.

00:23:41.650 --> 00:23:43.350
The disciples come onto the shore and he has a meal.

00:23:43.370 --> 00:23:48.630
If you read the gospels, what you find, every thing that happens in the Gospels happens around a meal.

00:23:50.710 --> 00:23:53.530
It's communion with God.

00:23:53.730 --> 00:23:54.530
It's relationship.

00:23:54.810 --> 00:23:58.730
And then God jumps to the elephant in the room after the meal in verse 15.

00:24:01.290 --> 00:24:08.630
So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do

00:24:08.630 --> 00:24:16.290
you love me more than these?" He said, "Yes Lord, you know that I love you." Let me stop here and say this: commentaries

00:24:16.290 --> 00:24:17.770
have a different response on this.

00:24:17.790 --> 00:24:20.210
When he says, Peter, do you love me more than these?

00:24:20.570 --> 00:24:21.990
They're speculation as to what that means.

00:24:23.110 --> 00:24:27.750
Some people say, well, he's saying, do you love me more than you love the disciples?

00:24:28.670 --> 00:24:30.830
Or do you love me more than the disciples love me?

00:24:31.790 --> 00:24:34.810
Or do you love me more than you love this occupation of fishing?

00:24:36.030 --> 00:24:38.770
People speculate in the different areas as to what it is.

00:24:38.990 --> 00:24:41.270
I'm the person that thinks, I think he's talking about fishing here.

00:24:42.490 --> 00:24:45.350
I think that he's not competing to have a better love than the disciples have.

00:24:45.390 --> 00:24:48.010
He just wants Peter to love him the way that God's called him to love him.

00:24:48.290 --> 00:24:52.210
But I think he's saying, look, are you giving up and going back to this way of life?

00:24:52.250 --> 00:24:53.690
Are you really committed to me?

00:24:54.430 --> 00:25:01.610
And so he says, you can pick your own preference by the way, I don't, it doesn't matter here, but what does matter is the

00:25:01.610 --> 00:25:04.810
idea of where Peter's heart is in connection to God.

00:25:04.970 --> 00:25:12.070
And so he says, "When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?' And he said, 'Yes, Lord, you know that

00:25:12.070 --> 00:25:19.250
I love you.' And he said to him, 'Tend my sheep.' And he said to him again a second time, 'Simon, son of John, do you love me?' He said to him, 'Yes Lord.

00:25:19.250 --> 00:25:26.290
You know that I love you.' He said, 'Shepherd my sheep.' And he said to him a third time, 'Simon, son of John, do you love me?' And Peter was grieved because he said

00:25:26.290 --> 00:25:27.450
to him a third time, do you love me?

00:25:27.750 --> 00:25:33.130
And he said to him, 'Lord, you know that I love you.' And Jesus said, 'take care of my sheep.'" Let me just say this.

00:25:33.250 --> 00:25:38.030
If Peter was stuck in the past of regret, he wouldn't have never lived how God has called him to live in this world.

00:25:39.480 --> 00:25:46.630
And so once Peter defined forgiveness, and he never brings up forgiveness here, but here's the reason I think that we find God bringing Peter in this place

00:25:46.630 --> 00:25:47.330
of forgiveness.

00:25:47.670 --> 00:25:52.870
It tells us in verse 17 after Jesus asked the question three times, Peter was what?

00:25:54.730 --> 00:25:55.030
Grieved.

00:25:56.820 --> 00:25:57.370
Peter was grieved.

00:25:58.830 --> 00:25:59.630
Why was Peter grieved?

00:26:01.230 --> 00:26:03.450
Well, I think Peter recognized what Jesus was doing here.

00:26:05.290 --> 00:26:11.470
That Peter had denied Jesus three times as Jesus was about to be crucified.

00:26:13.370 --> 00:26:20.450
And so Jesus brings up that tension in their relationship for which Peter had left Jesus by asking Peter this question three

00:26:20.450 --> 00:26:21.150
times.

00:26:22.450 --> 00:26:23.570
It was a place of restoring.

00:26:23.690 --> 00:26:28.870
Just as you had forsaken him three times, I want to know three times, Peter, do you love me?

00:26:29.210 --> 00:26:34.080
And Peter, I think in this moment was grieved because he knew exactly what Jesus was pointing to.

00:26:35.390 --> 00:26:41.700
And when you look at the way that this story is written, this idea of love, there's actually a different word for love used throughout this passage.

00:26:41.930 --> 00:26:44.390
When Jesus asked the question, Peter, do you love me?

00:26:45.330 --> 00:26:46.510
Peter does answer yes.

00:26:46.990 --> 00:26:49.460
But when Jesus asked this question, the first thing he says is, do you agape?

00:26:49.970 --> 00:26:51.070
Do you unconditionally love me?

00:26:52.030 --> 00:26:55.090
And Peter's response, yes Lord, I love you.

00:26:55.750 --> 00:27:01.010
But when Peter says, I love you, Peter says, phileo, which is brotherly love.

00:27:01.790 --> 00:27:03.000
So I think Peter answers the question.

00:27:03.130 --> 00:27:05.920
He's like, yes, Lord, I agape love you and I brotherly love you.

00:27:06.190 --> 00:27:08.530
But Jesus asks him again, do you agape love me?

00:27:08.870 --> 00:27:10.690
And Peter says, yes, I love you.

00:27:10.750 --> 00:27:15.870
And the third time, Jesus, rather than say, do you agape love me, Jesus changes his word for love here.

00:27:15.910 --> 00:27:17.990
And he says, do you brotherly love me?

00:27:19.550 --> 00:27:22.700
And people look at this and they speculate as to what happened here.

00:27:22.910 --> 00:27:31.090
Some people say, look, it's not that big of a deal that this is oftentimes done in Greek literature where they'll

00:27:31.090 --> 00:27:35.470
play on this word love and use it in different ways, even though it may be the same word that they're intending.

00:27:35.670 --> 00:27:38.450
They'll switch these words out and then not a big deal.

00:27:38.830 --> 00:27:40.330
I think there's a little something to this.

00:27:40.370 --> 00:27:41.650
And here's what I think Jesus is doing.

00:27:43.130 --> 00:27:48.930
Peter, more than these fish, are you willing to forsake things to make me Lord?

00:27:51.260 --> 00:27:53.200
Unconditionally do you give your life to me?

00:27:53.870 --> 00:27:56.230
Peter's response is yes.

00:27:56.730 --> 00:27:59.550
Are you sure you unconditionally give your life to me?

00:27:59.550 --> 00:28:01.150
Yes.

00:28:01.630 --> 00:28:07.120
Well, in addition to me just being the King that you lay your life down, Peter, here's what I'll also want to know.

00:28:08.630 --> 00:28:08.970
Are we friends?

00:28:17.870 --> 00:28:18.510
I love this story.

00:28:20.690 --> 00:28:24.070
Because when it comes to regret, you don't have the power to make things different.

00:28:26.350 --> 00:28:27.890
It has to come from outside of you.

00:28:29.010 --> 00:28:30.590
Someone that forgives you.

00:28:33.150 --> 00:28:34.610
And here's what Jesus is teaching Peter.

00:28:35.930 --> 00:28:37.750
Peter, let me handle what I handle.

00:28:38.290 --> 00:28:39.750
You're forgiven.

00:28:40.110 --> 00:28:41.450
And you go do what I've called you to do.

00:28:43.010 --> 00:28:43.770
Let go of the past.

00:28:55.210 --> 00:28:55.230
We're friends.

00:28:55.230 --> 00:28:55.230
You belong.

00:28:55.230 --> 00:29:00.660
I think the encouragement to us in this story is, take it to the Lord.

00:29:01.730 --> 00:29:02.590
Take it to the Lord.

00:29:02.630 --> 00:29:04.650
And you look at this and you're like, well, this is great for Peter.

00:29:06.030 --> 00:29:06.550
This is great.

00:29:06.590 --> 00:29:07.710
Peter got his moment.

00:29:07.950 --> 00:29:08.390
But what about me?

00:29:09.650 --> 00:29:13.610
I think about this passage in Philippians 4:6.

00:29:13.650 --> 00:29:16.310
We like to say this, be anxious for nothing.

00:29:16.330 --> 00:29:17.970
Be anxious for nothing.

00:29:17.970 --> 00:29:22.390
And then when we make the application, our lives are like, be anxious for nothing by just all of a sudden not being anxious anymore.

00:29:22.450 --> 00:29:25.460
Oh yeah, I shouldn't be anxious, therefore I'll use my strength and I won't be anxious anymore.

00:29:25.710 --> 00:29:30.010
But you know, the reason why Paul says this to us, be anxious for nothing?

00:29:30.690 --> 00:29:31.630
It has nothing to do with you.

00:29:33.110 --> 00:29:36.840
The verse that precedes this says this to us, the Lord is near.

00:29:39.570 --> 00:29:40.590
Why do I have not to be anxious?

00:29:40.790 --> 00:29:43.840
Is it because within myself I draw up the strength and not be anxious.

00:29:43.850 --> 00:29:44.110
No.

00:29:45.130 --> 00:29:47.530
It is to recognize that everywhere I go, it's in his presence.

00:29:49.590 --> 00:29:53.240
Let this moment that Peter had is a moment that I can have with the Lord too.

00:29:54.410 --> 00:30:01.450
Just as he was walking with Jesus on the shore and in his life, finding His grace and forgiveness, so God knows everything in my life

00:30:01.450 --> 00:30:01.950
as well.

00:30:02.250 --> 00:30:04.290
And it tells me in this passage, be anxious for nothing.

00:30:04.290 --> 00:30:04.570
Why?

00:30:04.570 --> 00:30:06.670
Because God's right there.

00:30:07.950 --> 00:30:09.190
So here's what it is encouraging us to do.

00:30:09.190 --> 00:30:14.870
Rather than hold onto regret and religious mindset, trust the Lord.

00:30:16.990 --> 00:30:23.990
One of the famous passages in scripture says this, we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those

00:30:23.990 --> 00:30:26.000
who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

00:30:26.110 --> 00:30:28.840
And guys get this, even your regrets.

00:30:31.510 --> 00:30:33.470
God works all things together for good.

00:30:35.950 --> 00:30:36.450
Even your regrets.

00:30:39.610 --> 00:30:40.090
God's big enough.

00:30:43.030 --> 00:30:44.190
God's big enough to do that.

00:30:44.230 --> 00:30:45.830
And he loves you enough to do that.

00:30:48.610 --> 00:30:53.120
Even our regrets, God works together for good.

00:30:56.210 --> 00:31:00.150
I know sometimes for us, this is where our battle is.

00:31:00.250 --> 00:31:01.690
It's hard for us to imagine.

00:31:02.970 --> 00:31:07.070
You think to yourself, well, how could God ever work through my regrets?

00:31:08.690 --> 00:31:09.170
I'm not perfect.

00:31:11.290 --> 00:31:12.550
How can God work through that?

00:31:12.550 --> 00:31:14.870
Well, that's the whole Bible.

00:31:16.330 --> 00:31:21.870
The whole Bible is God using crooked sticks to make His glory made known in this world.

00:31:22.570 --> 00:31:29.610
You think about this, not only does everything true become untrue by seeing Jesus resurrected for Peter, which is why Peter runs the shore.

00:31:30.010 --> 00:31:32.830
But you think this story has been written for almost 2,000 years.

00:31:33.870 --> 00:31:38.110
And if you think about the way the church has received this is a sigh of relief passage.

00:31:39.470 --> 00:31:46.710
And you think about what this story is, it is a place where you're like, Lord, I'm not, I'm not happy Peter was an idiot,

00:31:47.670 --> 00:31:49.980
but thank you Peter was an idiot.

00:31:50.300 --> 00:31:56.870
Thank you for his value in this because what I learned in my was a place of grace.

00:31:58.890 --> 00:32:05.930
And so even in Peter's failure, it becomes a passage that brings comfort to God's people because we see

00:32:05.930 --> 00:32:09.410
a path forward for our lives in our failures.

00:32:10.970 --> 00:32:13.130
So how in the world could God work all things together for good?

00:32:13.130 --> 00:32:16.970
Well, for 2,000 years, I think Peter's been a living example for it.

00:32:17.270 --> 00:32:23.070
And not only that, the enormous example for our lives always is and forever will be the cross of Christ.

00:32:25.330 --> 00:32:31.590
The symbol of the darkest, most destructive torturous device in all of history.

00:32:34.330 --> 00:32:35.690
And it's our anthem of victory.

00:32:38.230 --> 00:32:41.270
We boast in the cross of Christ because it is the place of hope.

00:32:41.270 --> 00:32:47.710
If God can turn the darkest of moments in all of human history to the greatest day of celebration.

00:32:48.510 --> 00:32:49.560
We call it Good Friday.

00:32:50.960 --> 00:32:52.840
What is good about that Friday?

00:32:55.240 --> 00:33:01.340
If God can do that, I'm pretty sure he's got your life handled too.

00:33:04.810 --> 00:33:10.870
You think about holding onto the regret and the place, it keeps you captive in the destruction it brings to your soul.

00:33:12.290 --> 00:33:15.810
And Jesus showing up to the shore of your life.

00:33:18.810 --> 00:33:22.050
One of my favorite passages.

00:33:22.070 --> 00:33:23.750
Laminations 3, listen to this.

00:33:24.850 --> 00:33:26.430
Remember my afflictions and my wanderings.

00:33:27.770 --> 00:33:29.010
Wormwood and bitterness.

00:33:29.030 --> 00:33:32.570
And surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me.

00:33:33.610 --> 00:33:39.610
And if you're like that in these moments you're thinking, I need Jesus to show up in the shore of my life so I can move forward.

00:33:39.950 --> 00:33:44.070
It says this in verse 21, than this I recalled to my mind, therefore I have hope.

00:33:45.650 --> 00:33:53.410
The Lord's loving kindness indeed never ceases for his compassions

00:33:53.410 --> 00:33:54.910
never fail.

00:33:56.270 --> 00:33:57.690
They are new every morning.

00:33:59.130 --> 00:34:00.470
Great is your faithfulness.

00:34:03.210 --> 00:34:04.370
Why would God say that?

00:34:06.750 --> 00:34:11.230
Because what God is ultimately interested in isn't your behavior.

00:34:11.290 --> 00:34:12.690
Though he cares about what you do.

00:34:15.090 --> 00:34:17.489
God is ultimately interested in is where you belong.

00:34:19.909 --> 00:34:25.429
Because if where are you belong as in his presence, God can transform your life.

00:34:27.030 --> 00:34:31.170
And God is so big he can control it all and redeem it for his glory.

00:34:33.310 --> 00:34:36.190
On that morning, Peter found the mercy of God.

00:34:38.469 --> 00:34:39.610
And so can we.

00:34:41.190 --> 00:34:47.409
If we had to live in our past regrets, no one could ever do anything for Jesus.

00:34:49.070 --> 00:34:54.870
Not Moses, not David, not Abraham, certainly not Peter.

00:34:56.250 --> 00:35:03.620
Because that's the goodness of the gospel spoken into our lives, that God knows that he's not finished with us yet.

00:35:05.530 --> 00:35:10.370
I think about the way the epistle writers have just described us.

00:35:10.390 --> 00:35:17.850
Listen to why Paul says this, but one thing I do, forgetting what is behind and

00:35:17.850 --> 00:35:25.230
straining forward to what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward

00:35:25.650 --> 00:35:26.270
in Christ Jesus.

00:35:27.850 --> 00:35:34.990
Peter the one that denied Jesus, said this, set your hope fully on the grace that will be

00:35:35.090 --> 00:35:38.630
brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

00:35:41.010 --> 00:35:44.670
When we talk about our regrets, it's not about excusing our sins.

00:35:46.570 --> 00:35:49.260
It's about finding a healthy way to deal with it.

00:35:50.350 --> 00:35:51.590
And the answer is Jesus.

00:35:53.150 --> 00:35:59.560
It's where justice and grace are found so that you find yourself free in him.

00:35:59.890 --> 00:36:01.900
That's God's desire for your life.

00:36:02.610 --> 00:36:04.960
That's how we move forward as Christians.

00:36:05.570 --> 00:36:09.340
That this morning not be about what you do or don't do.

00:36:10.330 --> 00:36:15.600
This morning, be primarily about this: are you and him friends?

00:36:17.370 --> 00:36:21.870
Do you agape love him unconditionally, sacrificially?

00:36:22.110 --> 00:36:22.860
Is he your King?

00:36:24.750 --> 00:36:27.000
And as your King, are you friends?

00:36:28.770 --> 00:36:32.070
His mercy is new every morning.

00:36:32.990 --> 00:36:33.790
Great is his faithfulness.
